Teachers' Enrichment Programme
Teachers in groups studied the NCF 2005 using jigsaw technique on 5th May, 2018 and discussed about creating an inclusive environment in the classroom for all students, active learning through experiential mode, connecting knowledge across disciplinary boundaries and giving all learners adequate room for voicing their thoughts and questions.
Workshop from TOI
Mr.Ajit Banerjee , the resource person from Times of India shared his experiences on 'How to be a child's friend?' with the teachers of Happy Hours School on May 26, 2017. It was an enriching and an interactive session where he highlighted the importance of a behavior attribute 'WYGIWYG- What you give is what you get'; Patience;Unconditional Love; Let the child speak and Appreciation. It was a great learning platform for the teachers to learn and share.
Parent Teacher Conference
'Together Everyone Achieves More'
Parent Teacher Conference for was held in different slots from 15th May to 18th May for Nursey and Pre Primary. The main objective of the forum was to celebrate the achievements, share best practices and build healthy relationships. The students of School Enterprise Team made the parents aware of Do's and Don'ts to be followed during the formative years of tiny tots.
Cross curriculum Approach
'Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.'
Ms.Shubhi trained teachers of KIIT World School, Gurugram on cross curriculum approach and important strategies on Classroom Management were shared by her. Teachers were engaged in meaningful group discussions, framing lesson plans mapped with Physical Education and gave presentations also.

Ms. Jayshree from TOI enriched teachers on 'Self Awareness' - Knowing Yourself Better on December 19,2016.It is an essential life skill. Knowing and understanding yourself better, in turn, leads to better decision making, setting and reaching appropriate goals and ultimately living a productive life. Teachers were engaged in meaningful activities and were explained the power of knowing themselves better.
Capacity Building Workshop
Teaching is the ability to inspire learning. The key to effective teaching is to remember how you learnt. Keeping the above thought in mind an introductory session was attended by the teachers of “Happy hours School” on 26th August 2016, which focused on the techniques of proper lesson planning, effective teaching and application of Bloom’s Taxonomy- Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, and Creating. In order to ensure successful teaching and learning teachers must use a number of skills and should encourage children for activities such as pair work, group work and presentation on favourite characters, surveys etc. For designing an effective lesson plan teachers should lay stress on how the concepts will be taught and should include brainstorming summarizing the concepts, recapitulation etc. The children should be provided an opportunity to explore, create so that they can apply their thinking skills in a right direction. We should allow the students to envision their own learning and constructive thoughts should be planted in them in order to gain positive outcomes.
‘It’s realising that a great dream is not as good as a great memory. The dream can be had by anyone. The memory must be made.’ Keeping the above thought in mind an effective workshop was organised by Happy Hours School on June 30, 2016. It was conducted by Mohd. Faizal (3 times Guinness Book of World Record Holder). Techniques: LIFE (Law of linking, Imagination, Faith, Emotions) and memorising vocabulary by Self Meaning System (SMS) were discussed to improvise the retention power. It culminated with a learning that repeated exposure to information in specifically timed intervals provides the most powerful way to fix memory into the brain.
"Make today the day to learn something new' which was clearly evident in the school campus on June 27, 2016 as the teaching staff was equipped with the new software in Pearson. The main focus was on understanding the sequence and learning by exploration.
Teachers’ got an opportunity to attend the Capacity Building Programme on Performance Management of School Staff and Students on April 26, 2016 organised by Quality Education Asia in association with At Summit Limited, U.K. in KIIT World School where Principals and head teachers from 25 reputed schools of Delhi participated. Mr Martin Matthews, Mr Lokesh Kumar and Ms Rupam Sah were the resource persons for providing an insight into the nuances of Performance Management.
Workshop - Do I really know myself well?
Resource Person : Ms. Anju Mehta
Every person possesses hard skills and soft skills , but how to analyze those skills is a great challenge. This challenge was made easy by Ms. Anju Mehta on 23rd June,2015 by making teachers' aware of different techniques like SWOT Analysis, ie. Strengthen your strengths, overcome your weaknesses, grab the opportunities and show your talent. Principles of Paradigms i.e.your perception to see things in life, what you see is what you do and that is what you get were shared. The workshop ended with discussion on two Ps' in the paradigm shift -Personal Victory and Public Victory.
Workshop on Life Skills
Resource Person : Ms. Rupam Sah
A workshop on Co Scholastic aspects of CCE and Life Skills was conducted by Ms. Rupam Sah on 25th June, 2015. The workshop began with a discussion about the importance of embedding CCE & Life Skills in the curriculum. Teachers’ were also made aware of the different areas under which Life Skills, Attitudes, Values, Health and Physical Education are evaluated and designing of the curriculum must be in conformance with the values enshrined in our constitution.
Workshop on Phonics
Resource person: Ms. Anju Mehta
Workshop on ‘Jolly Phonics – An explorative learning’ was conducted by Ms. Anju Mehta on June 27th, 2015 to accelerate children’s language abilities. It is a fun and interactive method to teach 42 letter sounds through synthetic phonics with actions. This multi-sensory methodology is an innovative technique to remember all sounds and spell words easily.
Teachers’ were divided into groups and were engaged in different activities to practice the skills of blending and segmenting sounds. The whole ambience was musical and lively. Presentations were given by teachers to demonstrate the use of flash cards, sight words, enact stories and recite rhymes. It was an enriching experience for all the staff members.
Workshop on Designing Question Papers
Resource Person : Mr. S.K.Munjal

The workshop on Designing of the question paper was conducted by Mr. S.K. Munjal on 30 June, 2015. Sir began the workshop by advising the teachers that planning is necessary in life. A teacher should plan her lesson well and make it child centered which will lead to eradication of rote learning. He also made everyone aware about the criteria for making a good paper so that children are prepared to face the outside world.
Jodo Gyan- workshop
Mathematics is the music of reason.It is everywhere around us. From going to the market and dealing with a shopkeeper to the number of glasses used to serve guests, numbers envelop us like an important entity. Mathematics does not only help us in our day- to – day situations, but also develops logical reasoning, abstract thinking and imagination. It provides new dimensions to thinking. In this regard, the teachers of Happy Hours School attended a workshop on October 31st 2015, Saturday in the school premises. It was conducted by Mr. Syed, who drove home the point that Math is not just pen , paper and problem. It is a poetry of logical ideas. It was an attempt to give students opportunities to create and formulate problems themselves. It is necessary for them to develop the ability to understand what it means to prove something and also become confident about the underlying concepts. The approach of the workshop was - Making Mathematics Beautiful using Jodo Gyan learning material. Various preprimary concepts were taught through Jodo Gyan material like Ganit Mala, Fraction kit , Number concept etc. The training was focused on exploring newer and interesting approaches to teach Mathematics, making it student-friendly. New narrative methods were also introduced to make the process of learning an appealing experience. The workshop equipped the teachers with a number of activities to help students enjoy doing Math themselves. After all, our students should learn to be confident, and not feel afraid of Mathematics.
Workshop on EnglishLangauage
No one is born perfect; one becomes perfect only with time and experience. And a few lucky ones acquire perfection by seeking professional help every now and then. Saturday, November 28th 2015 started with yet another workshop for the teachers of Happy Hours School. It was conducted by Ms. Anita Bahadur on Effective Language Teaching. It kicked off with an innovative activity as an introduction; followed by thinking out of the box exercises to stimulate different and unique ideas. The teachers were groomed professionally on how to do more of fun to do activities to teach typical Grammar and Literature topics.
The teachers were bubbling with great enthusiasm in all the activities and they took away a lot of mantras from the workshop to further make the classes more structured and student-centric.
